Employee Data Collection Notice

Shizuoka Bank, North American Branch (“Shizuoka Bank,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides this Employee Data Collection Notice (the “Employee Data Collection Notice”) to provide information to California residents as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).

This notice applies to California residents who are either (i) current or former employees, officers, directors, or independent contractors at Shizuoka bank or (ii) applying to be an employee, officer, director, or independent contract at Shizuoka Bank (collectively, “Employees”).

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

“Personal information” is information that identifies you, such as your name, phone number, driver’s license number, or billing information, or information that can be reasonably linked to you.

We collect the personal information of our employees, officers, contractors, and individuals applying for these positions (collectively, our “Employees”), which we use in the context of allowing our Employees to perform their jobs, in employment and hiring decisions, to maintain emergency contact information, and to provide benefits to our Employees.

We collect this information directly and indirectly from you, such as information you provide in your employment application, in job interviews, and as you undertake or perform services for Shizuoka Bank in the course of your employment. We also collect personal information about you from third-party service providers, such as consumer reporting agencies that perform employee background checks.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

Consistent with the purposes for which we collected your personal information, we use your personal information in the following ways:

To evaluate job applicants and independent contractors for employment or engagements, make employment-related decisions, maintain a list of emergency contacts, and provide benefits to employees and contractors of Shizuoka Bank.

To ensure that only authorized persons have access to the sensitive business and personal information of Shizuoka Bank and its affiliates, our Employees, and our customers.

To contact you about benefits, changes to our Policies, employment decisions, to respond to your inquiries, or to otherwise communicate with you.

We may use your personal information to comply with legal obligations, protect and defend the rights and property interests of Shizuoka Bank, protect against legal liability, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing, and protect the safety of our Employees, Commercial Customers, and the public.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell any of the personal information that we collect to third parties and have not done so in the last 12 months. However, we do share some of the personal information we collect with the following entities:

We may update this Employee Data Collection Notice from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by making the new Notice available to you in an appropriate manner, such as by email or by notification on the website, prior to any changes becoming effective.
